Planning your visit
Eastville Park is a large Victorian park with a range of facilities 2 miles north-east of Bristol city centre. It is a great place to relax surrounded by a spacious and diverse landscape. There is a large ornamental lake, tennis courts, bowling green, children’s play area, woodlands and wildflower meadows. It connects via the lovely Frome Valley Walkway, to Snuff Mills and Oldbury Court Estate. It is the reason why many people choose to live in Eastville and Fishponds.
Public toilets with accessible facilities operated by the City Council are available near the car park in the Upper park. Please note this automatically lock at 6pm.

Open every day over the Christmas period, including Christmas Day.
1 April to 31 October
- 8am to 10pm

Additional toilets are available at the Community Hub in the Nissen hut by the bowling green when bowling and public events are running, otherwise these are not in use.
There is a lot of space for picnics and barbecues but please:
- Put any disposable barbecues on a heatproof surface – not directly on the grass
- Take all your waste home with you
There are limited bins in the park for small waste items and dog poo, any rubbish left in bags next to bins is likely to be raided by animals before the council teams can collect it.

How to get here
On foot
Enter the park from Fishponds Road or follow the Frome Valley Walkway to enter the park.
By Bus
Use First Bus routes 5, 17, 24, 48, 48a, or 49 all stop near to the park.
By Bike
Use the Bristol to Bath railway path and exit at Whitehall. Follow signs to Greenbank cemetery and follow paths to Eastville. Cross at the lights and enter the park off Fishponds Road. There are a few spaces to lock your bike near the car park.
By Car
Head towards Fishponds Road and turn onto Oakdene Avenue. Take first left onto Park Avenue (BS5 6QL) and see the small car park ahead. Please car share where possible.

Lawn Bowling
There is a beautiful enclosed bowling green hidden away in the upper park. The bowling team Eastville park bowls club, play from the start of April to the end of September. The game is one of skill that takes minutes to learn and a lifetime to master. Each ball has a weighted bias to allow the ball to curve towards the Jack, and the closest balls to the Jack score the most points.
There has been a bowling team at Eastville Park since 1910, originally playing on 2 greens. Only one green is active at the moment next to the historical buildings.
If you would like to try the game of bowls, come and join in on an open day where you can try the game for free and be taught by the current team.
You can try bowling every Friday evening between 5-7pm from April-October
Bowling is an inexpensive and enjoyable lawn game that gets you moving while enjoying life in the slow lane. Despite having a reputation as being for pensioners, anyone can play, and you move more than you would imagine!
